If this is not the case, we will make any necessary modifications, repairs or replacements at no charge to you for a period of two years from the installation date. Price Cap Program 2009-2010
Would you spend $79 to save $1,000? Would you spend $249 to save $1,500?
If your answer is yes, then we have good news! As you are well aware, world energy prices have fluctuated dramatically this past year. That's the bad news. The good news is that we are able to offer our customers price protection and unlike our competitors, it's for the entire year (July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010). This year's standard capped price was $2.899 per gallon. That means customers enrolled in the cap program payed a maximum of $2.899 per gallon. Customers enrolled in Premium Cap Program paid a maximum of $2.699!
There is no way of knowing how world oil prices will behave but you can rest assured that Scaran has taken the worry out of your budget by capping our price to you. This is a service we offer to our customers as a way to help you manage your household budget. It requires securing futures contracts so that we can offset any price change this winter. Beware of offers for lower prices. Many companies offer a fixed price, which doesn't allow you to take advantage of price decreases. We have seen cases where companies do not honor their price guarantee once the winter season increases oil demands. Our offer is guaranteed and our track record proves it.

Automatic Delivery
What happens when you run out of oil? More than likely, you wait 24 hours or more until an oil company can respond to this type of emergency. Scaran, however, offers a proactive system of automatic delivery based on the Degree Day System. Based on past deliveries every customer has a K factor, this is the number of degree days which elapse for every gallon of oil your burner consumes (In simpler terms, degree-days per gallon). Our area typically has somewhere around 5000 degree days per year so the house with a K factor of 6 should use about 834 gallons per year and likewise a house with a K factor of 10 would use about 500 gallons per year.

Budget Plan
Our 11 month budget plan is for our customers who like the convenience of knowing the amount of their heating oil bill will remain consistant each month. Our customers find that it helps them to effectively plan their household budgets. To do this, we forecast the cost of oil for the coming year by looking at the amount of energy used at your address for the same time period last year. That amount will be divided into 11 monthly payments, and the 12th payment in June will be a settlement amount. The only restrictions to enroll are that you must begin in June and you must be current with your payments. There's no charge to participate in the Budget Payment Plan.
Each month you'll receive an up-to-date statement of your account showing the budget amount due, as well as the actual amount of oil you used. You will receive an invoice for each delivery indicating how much oil was delivered. To ensure the accuracy of your monthly payment, your budget is reviewed each month. Your monthly payment may change if we review your budget and find there's a significant difference in your oil usage, or weather that is much colder or warmer than the previous year. The results of the review will be shown on your bills; if your budget amount changes, the new amount will be due with your next month's bill.
